What is acne?

What is acne?

Acne is a disease of the sebaceous glands (fat) skin. It is not a serious illness, not health threatening, but can cause scarring.
Acne is a disease of the sebaceous glands (fat) skin. Small holes in the skin (pores) connect the sebaceous glands, which are located under the skin, the outer skin. These glands produce an oily substance called sebum. The pores connect the glands with a small canal called a follicle. Inside follicles sebum carries dead skin cells to the surface of the skin. Through the hair follicle grows too (hair) that comes to the surface of the skin. When a follicle is a sebaceous gland obstructs a "grain" or "pimple", also called a comedo develops. Most grains are located in the face, I strain, back, chest and shoulders.

Acne is not a serious illness, not health threatening, but can cause scarring.
How acne develops.

Sometimes the hair, sebum and skin cells accumulate together in a plug. Bacteria contained in this stopper produce inflammation. When the plug begins to break, the grain appears.

Several types of grains. The most common are:

White dots. These are grains that are located under the surface of the skin. Black spots. Are grains that grow on the surface of the skin and look of that black, that does not mean that dirt inside. Papules. Small pink beads, touch-sensitive pustules. Small red beans in the background, with pus on the tip nodules. Larger grains, solid and painful, which is located deep under the skin. Cysts. Deep, painful and pus-filled pimples, which are those that can cause scars
